Do you believe in love at first sight?

Yes, I think it's entirely possible (but not necessarily possible for *everybody*--it probably depends on how perceptive one is.) I know some people like to call "love at first sight" merely infatuation or lust, but I don't agree. People aren't actually just collections of psychological facts to be learned over time--that would be pointless. People have essences, and those essences tend to be rather simple. When someone is particularly strong at exuding their essence, or when someone is particularly good at picking up on it, it can only take a few seconds to really *know* someone, at least in regards to the *important* aspects.

Also, contrary to popular thought, there is actually a lot of correlation between one's physical characteristics and one's personality or essence. People are *holistic* beings, and trying to see one aspect of them, such as their looks, as being completely separated from and unrelated to another major aspect of them, such as their personality, is artificial, it's overly rationalistic. So it's possible (maybe just in some circumstances) to know someone well enough just from their looks to know that you love them or that they'd be perfectly compatible with you or whatever.
